The album kicks off with Song Of The Century, somewhat of a prelude to the story of 21st Century Breakdown.The lyrics depict a country going into a war (louder than bombs) and losing (losing the fight).Both sides are fighting viciously with no signs of giving up, and the civilians are clearly losing a lot because of their government (era of static and contraband). one of my favorite albums of all time! i remember the day i got my CD copy either on the release day or the week of the release day at Hot Topic LOL, my mom and i listened to the whole album in the car on the drive home from the mall and had absolute blast
